Introduction

What is the Banned IP’s Updater?

The Bad IP Updater is a program that updates “bad IP’s” for use with an IP blocking program to help protect you from the anti-P2P organizations, such as the RIAA and MPAA. K-Lite has a built IP Blocking program built in with the Banned IP’s Updater. It blocks UDP and TCP connections.

How do I update the IP Ranges?

To update the IP ranges, select the lists you want to be downloaded then click on ‘Update’ and then wait until your new Banned IP’s are downloaded.

Does this mean that the Bad IP Updater well keep me 100% safe?

No. The Bad IP Updater will help you block out only the IP’s that are in the bannedips.txt file. If there is an IP that is not in there, chances are if they try to connect to your computer, they will be successful. This is why you should constantly be updating the lists. We recommend updating the lists at least twice a week.

What is the Fake Analyst tool?

The Fake Analyst tool uses the Banned IP’s you’ve downloaded to filter out any possible files put on the FastTrack Network by anti-P2P organizations.

How Do I Use It?

When you search for a file, wait until the search is complete, and then hit the “Analyze” button. The whole search window will be filtered for you. The red bugs are possible corrupted files and the stars are possible clean files. All you have to do is make sure you update your lists regularly.
